The Solvang Gallery

The fireplace seen here is one of the most interesting features of the Solvang Gallery. It was designed entirely by Viggo Brandt-Erichsen. He actually poured the cement for it in one piece and later carved the design. Brandt-Erichsen also made and designed the copper work seen here. He designed the ironwork and hired a metalworker to form it. The pig sprawled comfortably in front of the fireplace is also Viggo's work.
The ironwork decorating the main entrance door is another example of Viggo's design work. Other pieces of ironwork designed by Viggo are scattered throughout the museum.
