This room is an example of a Danish "Best Room", which is equivalent to the American concept of a Parlor Room. The furnishings in the Best Room were kept in good condition by careful housekeeping and light usage -- the Best Room was only used for special occasions. The furnishings on display here are in very fine condition even though they date back to 1890.
